Creating functional art from burl woods began in an unexpected twist of fate that led to a love affair with these mysteriously shaped edifices of nature over 25 years ago. Originally, I began making tiered tables, chairs and clocks eventually including creating culinary servers and larger vessels and wall art using methods of highlighting the inherent patterns found in the wood, bringing a delightfully different approach to serving all kinds of foods. They are sealed with a durable FDA food grade sealer for safe delivery for an assortment of food delights and very easy to care for. My deep joy is in bringing the inherent beauty of burl into people’s lives to revel and to use.
